After the holiday season, winter can get long and monotonous, especially with the constant flow of work and school. If you are looking for a way to break up the stress and have some fun, here are 10 winter activities to break up the stress.   

 

Ice Skating

Ice skating is a fun activity to do while taking a short break from school or work. Since indoor rinks are usually close-by the activity doesn’t take too long. No matter the weather you can go get some exercise while enjoying the bliss of gliding or stumbling across ice.

Go Skiing or Snowboarding

This activity is a little more pricey and usually farther away, but it’s well worth it to hit the slopes on a free weekend with nothing to do because it’s great exercise and they have different slopes for beginners and for very experienced athletes.

Bake a pie

Baking a pie is the perfect break for any hard day. It doesn’t take too long since most of the time it’s in the oven baking. It is also inexpensive and tastes good.

If you are super busy getting work done, this takes five minutes and tastes delicious while still giving you all the winter feels.

This is a really good group activity because it’s creative and also gets you into the holiday mood even though the holidays are over.

Read a book

Reading a book is often an everyday activity for some people, but if you aren’t one of those people, cozying up with a blanket and a good read can be a nice relaxing activity for the winter. Reading is shown to reduce stress and improve focus and concentration which can be beneficial at work or school.

Building a snowman will throw you back to your childhood days, but if it’s snowy weather building one of these can be a great idea for a winter day.

This is also a great one for snowy weather if you can find a steep hill to race down with some friends.

If you are really into sports and good at skating, this is definitely for you. It’s a fun game and you can usually find a rink to play somewhere close by.

This is awesome for a fun weekend away with friends or if you have a hot tub at home it’s relaxing and fun.
