On Thursday night, the volleyball team played its rival, Woodgrove High School. The Jungle was filled with students in the stands, cheering on the Lady Vikes. The first set, the scoring went back and forth between the teams until Valley pulled out the win ending the first set with a score of 25-22. 

The Lady Vikes took the second set, with a score of 25-15.

 The final set was very close. Woodgrove started out with the lead until Valley came crawling back. The teams went point for point for about 5 minutes, going beyond 25 points. In order to win the set, one has to win by 2 points. The Vikings fought until the very end to win the game 31-29.

Junior Kit Conover said she was very proud of her team.

“That’s the first time it’s happened, in the past years we would have to go to 5 sets,” she said.
