Recap of Minecraft Live 2020

Considered a unique game like no other, Minecraft is a beloved game that has grown up with its fans. It requires engagement and creativity, to be able to build or destroy in a 3-D game setting. Given the ability to explore, create and battle, the adventures on Minecraft are limitless.

What is minecraft Live?

Minecraft Live is an event hosted by Minecraft’s parent company, Mojang, to discuss the future direction of Minecraft with the public. This event is generally hosted by Agnes Larsson and Jens Bergensten, both employees of Mojang. This year one of the hosts was Brandon Pearce, a modder who was recently hired by Mojang to create more content.

What happened in Minecraft Live?

Last year, fans were gifted with the Nether Update, a dimension in Minecraft that has been untouched for years. It added four pristine biomes and many mobs players could interact with. Popularity of the game surged in 2019 as a result.

This year, fans were given the Caves and Cliffs Update, one many players have wanted for years. It has given players more to explore when they choose to roam the caves. For years, players have been exploring the same ordinary caves, and there is much more opportunity for cave exploration.

What mobs have been introduced?

Minecraft is widely known for the large number of mobs players can interact with in the game. These are computer-generated characters, and three new ones will be added soon.

First up will be mountain goats. These goats will reside in the mountains and have the ability to jump to extreme heights.

Second we be axolotls, the first amphibians to ever be introduced to the game. The amphibian has an interesting mechanic that allows them to assist you in battle against evil mobs.

The third will be the Warden, the first-ever blind mob. This mob can be found in the deep midst of the caves. Because of their blindness, Wardens sprint toward the direction they hear activity.

Mob vote 2020

This year, fans were given three mobs to vote for: Moobloom, Glow Squid and Iceologer. Each mob has different functions, though some functions were left unknown. Passive Moobloom is a yellow cow decorated with flowers that has a positive relationship with bees. Iceologer is a hostile mob that will attack anyone who dares to walk in its path. Glow Squid is a squid that glows in the dark. Glow Squid came out the winner of the 2020 vote.
