Purcellville Block Party

Purcellville is hosting its 10th Annual Halloween Block Party this Saturday.  This highly anticipated event welcomes families and friends to come and enjoy games, candy and costume contests in the heart of downtown Purcellville.

The Halloween block party is organized by local business owners Micheal Oak, Kim Patterson and Hilary Coley. Together, they run the non-profit charity Discover Purcellville.

Discover Purcellville is a communal art project that has brought many art opportunities to the town, including painted signs and barrels that are sponsored by the buildings they sit outside of. They’ve even painted the Discover Purcellville sign on the side of Purcellville Family Restaurant, which is a recognized town landmark.

On Halloween weekend, they further the arts opportunities in the form of festivities. Throughout the night, people participate in a variety of contests including most horrific scream, howl at the moon and costume contests for every age group.

The block party will be on 21st Street this Saturday, October 30 from 5-9 p.m.
