What to Watch on different Streaming Platforms

Movies and TV shows have been entering a new era of entertainment with all the different streaming services that are available for viewers. All of these platforms have thousands of different choices on things to watch. Oftentimes, you can get overwhelmed and bombarded which leads to not knowing what show or movie to watch and spend your time on.
There are lots of spectacular new movies and series that you can’t miss out on that are only available on certain platforms. Here are the recommended and popular movies and TV series on each platform:
1) Hulu
There are plenty of options on Hulu currently, but one show that is getting a lot of attention is Only Murders in the Building. This is a 10 episode comedy and mystery that is rated TV-MA. The show features Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Selena Gomez as the main characters who all live in the same apartment building. They all cross paths when there is a murder that takes place in their building. The three characters all team up to find out who did it and make a podcast about their journey. They encounter twists and turns all while having comical moments and witty banter. Only Murders in the Building is rated 100% on rotten tomatoes.
2) HBO Max
Recently, HBO Max aired Dune, a remake of what was first written as a book and then as a movie in 1984. Dune is rated PG-13 and is placed under the Sci-Fi and adventure genre. In this remake of the book, it is split into two parts. Currently, only Part 1 is released but Part 2 should be out on HBO Max and in theaters sometime in 2023. In the story, main character Paul Atreides, who is played by actor Timothee Chalamet, is a very smart young man whose family protects the most dangerous planet, Arrakis. Arrakis is a desert planet with giant worms, minimal water, skilled natives, and is the only place where a crucial substance “spice” can be harvested. This causes Paul and all others who are helping keep Arrakis safe to prepare themselves for a fight over the “spice” industry. During this time, Paul is going through his own hardships and denial when people start to spread the word that Paul could be their long awaited Messiah. You will watch the start of an amazing journey, but only Paul can figure out his own destiny.
3) Netflix
A very popular show that is now streaming on Netflix is the series Squid Game. Squid Game is rated TV-MA and has 9 episodes only available on Netflix. Featuring some actors like HoYeon Jung, Lee Jung-jae, Yeong-su Oh, and Anupam Tripathi. In the show, there are hundreds of very desperate individuals who participate in a mysterious survival game. They are all competing against each other for the ultimate prize but if you fail the consequences are deadly.
4) Apple TV
Apple TV released a show called Ted Lasso in August in 2020 for their first season. This first season got lots of recognition causing a release of a second season in October 2021. This series is rated TV-MA and is a comedy-drama with a total of 22 episodes. Actors in Ted Lasso consist of Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, and many more. This story starts when main character Ted Lasso, an American football coach, gets hired to coach a professional England football club. He is hired by the owner of the team, who is recently divorced, and sabotages it to get back at the ex-husband. Even with her intentions, Ted is so friendly and likable that he bonds the whole team and helps them come together. Ted Lasso has won 7 Emmys and is 95% on rotten tomatoes.
5) Disney Plus
Disney Plus has plenty of children’s movies and shows you probably grew up watching. Well, the movie Cruella is a spin off of 101 Dalmatians.It takes a look into Estella’s life and how she became the evil Cruella de Vil you then see in 101 Dalmatians. The movie starts off with a talented young lady who is trying to go big in the fashion industry. When she then meets two thieves who peak her interest in mischief and they make a nice little life for themselves on the streets. Estella then happens to become friends with a big fashion star and embraces the full Cruella who you know from 101 Dalmatians. This is a great family friendly movie to watch and is 75% on rotten tomatoes.
