On May 21, Girls Varsity Softball continued their 9-0 winning streak by beating Dominion 10-6 in the Dulles District Tournament Semi-Final.
While starting pitcher Ava Lomalin is out due to an injury, the team’s offense didn’t give up with Freshman Harlie Reich and Junior Kayla Dunkerley leading them to victory.
Freshman Harlie Reich hit her first homerun of her high school career and said it was one of the most exciting moments of the season.
“It was a full count and in that situation I didn’t feel too much stress because there were no outs. Knowing that the pitcher had already pitched two inside pitches I knew what to expect, at first I thought it was a pop fly but then I heard it hit off the shed and I was surrounded by my cheering teammates,” Reich said.
Varsity Softball plays on Thursday, May 23 against Heritage at home at 6pm for the District Tournament Title game.
