Welcome to your midweek movie marathon. I’m your host Sophia Serice and today we’ll be going through my top three films for Friday the 13th.
Friday the 13th is coming up next week and to celebrate the occasion, I have picked out some scary movies for you and your friends to enjoy. Let’s get into it.
A cult classic that instilled fear in an entire generation. It’s campy, it’s scary, it will leave you with a feeling of impending doom that is perfect for a movie night. The acting is so-so but the plot and creativity of the scares make up for it. Final Destination inspired dozens of other disaster horror films and has had a lasting impact on those who’ve seen it. Although not high on rotten tomatoes, it is a fan favorite and is an enjoyable experience overall.
A classic slasher to watch with friends, Scream gives you all your horror needs and more. It’s funny, scary, gory and it has a plot to die for. Scream is the typical teen slasher comedy that we all know and love. It doesn’t take itself too seriously but also doesn’t lack on its plot. It is both a well thought out and well acted film that provides a scarily good time.
Oh the King, the day that’ll live forever in horror fans’ hearts around the world, Friday the 13th. Although Jason doesn’t appear in the first one, Friday the 13th is as classic a slasher as they come. Where the plot lacks the scares and gore shine through. Along with Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th is the go-to horror film for teens since its release in 1980 and will continue to horrify for years to come. There is no question that this is the reigning champ of horror.
And those are my top three picks for any Friday the 13th horror movie night. With whatever you choose, you are in for a frightening time.
