Rosh Hashanah is a jewish holiday marking the new year. It also honors the creation of the world and Adam and Eve.
It takes place on the first of Tishrei, which comes from the Hebrew calendar. This year Rosh Hashanah is Oct. 2- 4.
One major tradition of Rosh Hashanah is to blow a Shofar which is a curved rams horn. It is mainly celebrated over food, traditionally, apples dipped in honey, pomegranates, dates, and more.
Just like how some people use Jan. 1 to make resolutions for the new year, Hebrews use Rosh Hashanah to reflect on the new year and ask for forgiveness for what they believe they did wrong.
If you celebrate Rosh Hashanah, I would love to talk to you. If you’re open to an interview, please DM @lvhsviking on Instagram, or email me at [email protected].
