Are you nervous about the PSATs? Don’t know what to do to prepare? Don’t worry, the PSAT is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship and is a practice to help you prepare for the actual SAT, which you will take either your junior or senior year.
Tomorrow is PSAT day, meaning that freshmen, sophomores and juniors around the school will be hard at work taking the exam. Seniors will be doing fun activities that will take place in the stadium and students that aren’t taking the exam can either arrive late to school after the exam is finished or do some work in the library.
One preparation you can do before taking the test is taking the Diagnostic Test on Bluebook. Taking the test can really help you understand how Bluebook works and determine the areas that you struggle with.
The exam will be timed, so make sure to keep an eye on the time and how many questions you have to answer. Keep in mind that if you get a question incorrect they do not count against you, so you should try to go back and answer every question. You can also bring a snack and a water bottle to help you stay focused during the test.
Tomorrow will have an adjusted bell schedule so that the PSAT can take place and can be followed by the annual Powderpuff game. Each class will be 10 minutes long so that you can check in with your teachers and classmates.
