It was just announced that a new Trader Joe’s will open at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Announced in Feb., the grocery store will be in Fort Evans Plaza II next to the HomeGoods.
A rather unorthodox type of grocery store, Trader Joe’s carries incredibly few branded items and instead showcases a range of eclectic food options such as Kringles and watermelon jerky. They’re also known for their artwork filled stores and accommodating staff.
A few minutes before 9 a.m. on opening day, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by the Store Captain and other employees to welcome local shoppers to the new location.
45 new crew members have been hired due to the new location in addition to a handful of returning employees transferring from different locations.
The new location will donate 100% of its unsold products to nonprofits and other community organizations as a part of their Neighborhood Shares Program.
Head over on Tuesday at 9 a.m. to be one of the first shoppers at the first ever Leesburg Trader Joe’s.
