Friday Dec. 20, during the school day, students will be attending Valley’s first Court Clash. The Court Clash is a volleyball game where the junior and senior boys compete against each other, while the junior and senior girls coach. On Friday, students will follow the pep rally bell schedule, which means it will take the place of Viking Time.
When asked why they wanted to play in the Court Clash, one of the senior players, Brody Scott, said “ I coached Powder Puff and I really just wanted to play on the opposite side of it.” This new activity was sponsored through the Volleyball Club that seniors Kenzie Farrey and Ava Moll founded this year. They were two of the six girls who agreed to coach the boys.
This game will consist of normal VHSL rules. 3 sets, whoever wins 2 out of 3 sets will win the game. The first 2 sets, players score 25 points but have a lead by 2 to win. In the 3rd set, first to 15 points with a lead of 2, wins.
