The NBA trade deadline has been unthinkable since the Dallas Mavericks traded Superstar Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to the Lakers for Anthony Davis and Max Christie. This got the NBA trade deadline booming also. Most people, including me, think the Lakers won this trade since they were able to get a 25 year old superstar who will be the franchise cornerstone for years to come after Lebron James decides to retire.
The next crazy NBA trade happened when the Miami Heat sent Jimmy Butler to the Warriors in return for Andrew Wiggins, PJ Tucker, Kyle Anderson and a protected first round draft pick. Additionally, the Pistons received Dennis Schroder and Lindy Waters the 3rd and a 2031 second round pick.
Also, the Jazz received KJ Martin and Josh Richardson, as well as a 2028 second round draft pick and a 2031 second round draft pick. Finally, the Raptors received PJ Tucker and a second round draft pick.
This trade is ridiculous considering the Heat received Andrew Wiggins and the Warriors received Jimmy Butler, who is mediocre in the regular season but increasingly clutch in the playoffs. Butler will pair up with Steph Curry and potentially make noise in the playoffs.
Lastly, another unexpected trade went down when the Spurs acquired superstar De’Aaron Fox from the Kings, and the Kings acquired the Bulls best player, Zach Lavine. The Bulls received Zach Collins, Tre Jones and Kevin Huerter as part of this trade.
The Spurs have an exciting duo with De’Aaron Fox and Victor Wembayna. I think it is a shame that the Spurs gave up their young superstar, however, they did get a decent return considering they got Zach Lavine who was the best player on the Bulls, so not bad on the part of the Kings.
However, the Bulls did really badly on this trade considering who they got in return. In this trade it’s pretty easy to say the Spurs won this trade, but time will tell, not just on this specific trade, but all the trades that happened this NBA trade deadline.
