This Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Valley is hosting their annual Afternoon of the Arts to showcase projects from students around the county. Those interested in attending need only stop by the Auxiliary Gym when they have time — no tickets are required for entry.
“K through 12, it’s a variety of pieces from paintings and drawings to three-dimensional sculptures and really highly interpretive work,” Fine Arts Department Chair Matt Herbert said.
The show will feature works from across the Loudoun Valley cluster, including all elementary and middle schools that feed into Valley. The full list includes Banneker Elementary, Emerick Elementary, Hamilton Elementary, Kenneth Culbert Elementary, Blue Ridge Middle School and, of course, Loudoun Valley High School.
“It’s a good sampling to see what everybody — all the kids up here and all three levels — are doing,” Herbert said.
Selections from all art classes will be scattered throughout the gym, though students in AP Art will have full displays dedicated to the pieces they’ve created for their AP portfolio.
