On the first Friday of every May schools all across the country celebrate a very overlooked position.

Lunch Hero day is a great opportunity for all students to say thank you to the cafeteria workers who put in a great effort to make sure every student has something to eat during the day.

Sometimes a thank you can go a long way, and you never know who needs it the most.

Having One Lunch makes things way more stressful for the lunch workers at Valley, but they prove each and every day that they are able to keep up with all the hungry students here.

SCA adviser Sarah Weller says it is important to recognize our cafeteria workers and all of the amazing things they do.

“It’s important because they are not given all the credit they deserve,” Weller said. “We feel like they should have a special day.”

SCA has partnered with the culinary art classes to celebrate them on this day.

“Culinary arts is making food, and SCA is setting up with fancy flowers and joining them for a picnic,” she said.
