As the school year comes to an end, there are many upcoming events for rising IB students.
On Wednesday, June 11, IB Director Micheal Skavarch is hosting a virtual meet and greet for IB families. It will be held on webex at 6:30 p.m.
“To kick off this exciting journey, we are hosting a virtual meet and greet/networking session where you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the program, ask questions and connect with other IB families,” Skavarch said in an email.
The following day, Jun. 12, Skavarch is holding an event for students during Viking Time. The event will be held in the cafeteria and it’s important students bring their laptops.
During this event, you’ll be able to meet your IB classmates and teachers where they will go over the Creative Activity and Service (CAS) project.
Later that day, an additional event will be held at 5:30-7:00 p.m. which gives students and families that missed previous events another opportunity to learn more about the program and meet new people.
At this event, Skavarch will go over topics such as academic integrity in the age of artificial intelligence, prioritization and how to ask for help.
“This event will bring together both rising 11th grade and 12th grade IB Diploma students and their parents,” Skavarch said in an email. “This event will be a chance to learn more about the IB Diploma program expectations and next steps. We strongly encourage all students and parents to attend as many important items will be discussed at this meeting.”
