On the afternoon of Friday, May 16, students preparing to take the AP Psychology test experienced an unexpected delay. College Board experienced a nationwide crash that prevented students from logging into Bluebook to begin taking their exam.
Because of this issue, Valley has scheduled a make-up exam to take place on May 23.
“It’s a little upsetting that it happened because now we have to take another test,” junior Richie Ring said. “Our testing schedule isn’t over.”
College Board has transitioned nearly all their AP tests to either fully digital or hybrid exams — a move which the organization has stated will make the tests less susceptible to cheating. Out of 36 AP tests, 16 are fully digital and 12 are hybrid. The remaining eight paper tests are expected to become digital in the near future.
Each of these digital exams rely on Bluebook in order to be properly administered.
“It was kinda funny,” Ring said. “My group just started studying to pass the time because we assumed we would eventually be taking the test.”
