As the NBA Finals have now officially started as of thursday night out of the western conference the Oklahoma City Thunder are playing host to the Indiana Pacers out of the eastern conference. In game 1 Oklahoma city was leading by 19 points at one point of the game and as late as a 15 point lead late in the 4th quarter. However, because of late clutch three pointers by Aaron Nesmith and Myles Turner, making the score 110-109 which made Indiana in prime position to pull off another late comeback. Then with 7 seconds left Tyrese Haliburton brought the ball up and razzled a jumper for the win as time expired in making the final score 111-110.
This shot certifies Tyrese Haliburton as one of the clutchest players in all of the NBA as this is his 5th game tying or game winner in the NBA playoffs. Despite not scoring 20 points that game or in a lot of games his presence to make his teammates better players and his clutchness ability is what makes him a superstar and the most notable player in this series. Which is a hard decision considering the NBA’s MVP is playing in this series. However Haliburton’s clutchness outweighs Shais Shiftiness and Shai Gilgeous Alexander finished the game with 38 points and they still lost the game which is crazy to think.
Now in game 2 Oklahoma commanded a 16 point blowout in which superstar MVP player Shai Gilgeous Alexander finished the game with 33 easily being the player with the most impact in this game. On the other hand for Indiana superstar player Tyrese Haliburton did not particularly have a good game as he had 5 turnovers and only 17 points. Which is not an outcome we normally see out of him, resulting in a 123-107 win for OKC and a 1-1 series tie in a best of 7 series.
As we look ahead in this series Oklahoma definitely has the momentum after that blowout win against Indiana but, the series is far from over as long as Tyrese Haliburton can bounce back in the series with multiple 25 point and up games Indiana can very well win this series. As I see Tyrese Haliburton bouncing back in the next few games dropping at least 20 points in the next few games helping the Indiana Pacers win in 7 games making the Indiana Pacers the 20225 NBA champions in my finals predictions.
