Celebrate Purcellville, a week-long event, will hold its festival finale in Dillon’s Woods from 2-5 p.m.
“I’ve always enjoyed the different events they host within it,” junior Ruby Edwards said. “I am not planning on attending the one on Saturday this year because it’s Homecoming, and I have a lot to do that day.”
The festival will wrap up a week of community activities created by the Town of Purcellville. These activities included a Town-Wide Passport, for which participants hunted for participating businesses and non-profits around Purcellville to receive stickers on their passports.
Community members who collected at least 20 stickers, cam turn in their passport at the festival for a chance to win a prize.
Participants can drop their passports off from 2-4 p.m. to possibly win a prize package created by Celebrate Purcellville sponsors.
Passports also include a scavenger hunt section. If participants find six location codes, they can qualify for a prize.
Also, on the Chapman DeMary Trail, a nature walk took place where people answered trivia questions along the trail. If they get at least six answers, they may win a prize.
Besides the passport prizes, the live festival will include music, carnival games, a dunk tank, face painting, food and drink vendors.
“I think it’s important for Purcellville to host these things because it really keeps the community feeling alive since we live in such a small town,” Edwards said.
