Madhaunter’s Madhouse is a haunted trail based in the community of Purcellville. This trail occurs annually, and with Halloween coming up, it’s the perfect time to see what it’s all about.
This thrilling attraction was deemed “#1 Must-See Haunt” in Virginia by Scarefactor, and has won many other accolades in the past.

The local event is tucked between Hillsboro and Purcellville (I didn’t even know where that was) where the haunted attraction lies. There are actors as soon as you enter, waiting to give you chills, but that’s only the beginning.
Madhaunters also offers a precursor for the real horror. It’s a haunted manor in which you learn the lore of Madhaunter’s Madhouse, but beware this must be completed before the trail. This 10-15 minute attraction is only an insight for what’s to come.
They also offer an escape room, which is incredibly unique. From escape rooms to the main event of the 45-minute haunted trail, this attraction should have you shivering with fear.
The actors are overflowing with talent. They somehow send terror your way without even touching you. It seems they enjoy the experience as much as the guests.
“The actors were really good at scaring us,” junior Anuja Mallampalli said.
This scenic woodsy detour on 37658 Legard Farm Rd. is a petrifying scare. You can buy tickets on their website, where the different attractions range from $5-$35 depending on if you are interested in the escape room, precursor or main trail.
Overall, this haunted thrill-seeker offers endless amounts of fear, fun and fascination. If you are wanting some Halloweekend plans, this could be just the place you’re looking for.
