Inside Nest & Nook

Nest & Nook, a new home goods store and book café, had their grand opening on Saturday, May 25. The store took the place of Re-Love It, located on North 21st Street in downtown Purcellville.

Nest & Nook sells everything from food to furniture, which they source from local artisans or small businesses. While in the store, guests can read a variety of books ranging in genre and reading level.

“It would be a great place for students to go after school or even before school to meet to do a little work, maybe get some tutoring and a little caffeine,” Valley Librarian Jef Mueller said.

As well as having a wide selection of books and items, Nest & Nook will host various community events such as Friendship Bracelet Making, Children Weekend Storytime and Knitting in the Nook.

Nest & Nook is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“I could totally see myself going there with friends to study, and I could also see myself going on days off too,” sophomore Clarin Gaucher said. “I think it’d be a really great place for high schoolers to get together and get work done.”

Hi! My name is Sophia Serice and I am a sophomore this year at Loudoun Valley High School. This is my first year as a Staff Reporter and on the staff at the Viking News. This year as a Staff Reporter I am hoping to bring new ideas and stories to the staff, as well as, improve my journalistic and writing skills. I enjoy writing opinion and feature stories on what is happening in Loudoun Valley! Outside of newspaper, I enjoy reading, watching movies, spending time with animals, and participating in theater. I also have a great passion for the sciences and history. I love to travel and learn about other people in the community around me! I am so excited for what this year is to bring!

Hi! My name is Lilly Hall, and I’m a sophomore at Loudoun Valley. This is my first year on staff, and my first year as a staff reporter. Last year as an intern, I enjoyed doing interviews and writing profiles. This year, I’m excited to dive more into that area. I want to talk to a wide variety of students in order to tell their stories. I’m eager to learn and grow, while making meaningful connections to the people around me. Outside of newspaper, I enjoy being outside, volunteering, playing softball, watching scary movies, and spending time with my friends and family.
