Alison Pike, Co-Editor in Chief/Photo Editor
Hi! My name is Alison Pike, and I am a junior at LVHS. This is my second year on the Viking staff, I’m the photo editor, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  Â
Freshman year of high school, I discovered my passion for journalism and was able to explore all my options, from writing to design to photography. I fell in love with photography the moment I got my hands on a camera and pursued my interest in photography further by taking journalism at Valley.
As my photography advanced, I was offered the photo editor position on the Viking news staff. I am very honored to have received this position. The past two years of being a photo editor has opened my pathways for me, and I am very thankful for the opportunities that have been provided to me.Â
Outside of journalism, I am a part of the girls basketball team at Valley, I am an officer for Loudoun Valley’s Initiative Service club, I’m in STEM club, and I do photography on the side. I also love spending time with family and friends.
After high school, I would like to pursue a major in biomedical engineering. The STEM club at Valley has opened many doors for me to explore my career pathways, especially in biomedical engineering.
This past February, our STEM club became national finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest, and the content took place virtually in May 2020.
Along with my extracurriculars, I have a job at American Eagle, which is very fun and social. Overall, I hope this is a great and fun year for the Viking news staff.
